Why blog?

I've resumed my blogging spree... but honestly, I don't know how long it would last. I do hope I would have the will to write continuously. Now the question I gotta ask myself:
Why am I keeping a blog?

1) Organise my thoughts.

Those dreary 1 hour bus rides ransack my brain cells and I need to somehow get my hypothetical and idealistic paltries written down in bold. (I was deciding between using the word philosophical or hypothetical, and I decided the latter would be more accurate since 'philosophical' would make me sound too smart, which really isn't quite true.) And I humbly classify my thoughts under 'paltry' because simply, I don't wanna sound like a snob. heh. But then again, aren't all blogs pieces of petty literature? If an entry isn't about yourself, then it's probably dishes of petty suppositions of the world, concepts and morals which you've embraced as biblical truth. We all think we're right, and the truth is, we are. (Or from another persepective, we're all wrong.) As George Soros would describe the human uncertainty principle, reality is subject to alternative interpretations - and that's what makes reality. So, in conclusion, there is no such thing as universal truth; it's not being right or wrong that matters, it's about being an individual.

I know I'm being long winded over here but I'd add one last clarification to the last statement I made about universal truth.

I'm going to contradict myself.

George Soros states that we must distinguish between natural phenomena that are impervious to what people think and social phenomena that contain thinking participants.
And the one thing that I believe is impervious to circumstances, opinions, worldly inconsistencies,(the list goes on), is the existence of God.

2) Put my written language into use.

It's just about keeping in touch with my left brain. Since my course tends to neglect the use of my lateral thinking. You know, being an art student....

3) Have something to read when I'm a granny with ten grandchildren.

It's always fun to indulge in writings you wrote years ago.

4) Expound on my creativity.

To write something witty or post pictures with a punch line always requires an extra dose of creative juices. I need a new camera!

5) I am entirely fascinated with myself.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not writing in hopes of massive publicity. Of course it's always nice to have your writings appreciated, but from what I've written above, I kinda doubt that this is fun-to-read material. (Nothing like Xiaxue's wacky comments and pictures.) But a blog like hers has to continuously feed the appetites of the majority - churning up entries not for yourself, but for the public. Not exactly what I would hope for. But then again, if it earns me extra dollars, why not? heeeeeee!
