Sometimes aunties are the ones with the most things to say about politics.
I can't help but cringe at their erroneous judgements. Facts wrong. Just loud airing of assumptions. I guess it's supposedly 'intelligent' to have views, so with whatever little knowledge they've acquired, they 'whack' their lengthy speculation on who's good and who's not, why is this and why that is not, why Kerry should win and why Bush should not - you know the typical stuff.
Not that I know a lot, it's just that I've began to realise that there's a lot of hype about intelligence and people who desperately want to fall into the 'exceptional' category; people who put others down, poeple who pass snipe remarks on who they deem intellectually inferior, people who think they are right and everyone else is wrong. All for the boosting of their already oversized egos.
It really irks me when I hear people say, "Wish I could find people of my calibre. They'd understand me." Yah, like no one's as smart as you that's why you're getting into all these heated arguments? Why don't you take a look at yourself?
So many opinions, so much contempt. The whole world isn't good enough to people whose whole life is grounded on the fact that a piece of paper said 'IQ:145".
Whatever.
Everybody thinks they are smart.
"Oh I didn't study for my O'levels that's why I got 17 points"
How typical but they are right. Humans can count, a dog can't.
I think I'm smart.
Period.
